A bayou is defined as a slow moving body of water, yet it is full of life and ever changing from day to day. A Christian is a follower of the Way of Jesus Christ, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. The Bayou Christian seeks to be thoughtful, full of life, and gradually growing in the grace of Christ. The Bayou Christian is Bill Crawford, Pastor First Presbyterian Church of Thibodaux

I'm sorry to hear of Brian's struggles. Though I don't make a habit of reading one-sided reporting (there are at least two sides to every story, and only one side is reported here), it's clear that a sad situation has developed in this case. I don't understand why a presbytery would want to force such an unhappy pastor and parish to stay in its denomination.
Dang, but it's nice being on the outside looking in finally.

Josh,
Wow, usually when a very close friend tells me about what is happening to him. I trust his side of the story.
Very, very often there are two sides of the story. The good side and the evil side.
Bill:
My comment was directed at a particular publication's one-sidedness, not Brian's trustworthiness. I notice that another comment making a similar point has been deleted. (Are you wanting an echo chamber?)
It seems to me that Scripture teaches God is good and we are a mixed bag--at best. Every person (even members of the PCUSA) has been created in God's image; yet every person (even members of the EPC) has fallen short of God's glory. Jesus himself calls his followers "evil" (Matthew 7:11). It seems to me that your black and white attitude owes more to a particular ideology than to a biblical theology.
The other comment was by an anonymous person who has about 2 years history of being asked to stay off of my blog and at least 4 others that I know of.
As a policy I don't even read their comments before I delete them so I don't even know what was said by that person.
Hence being forced to turn moderation back on.
The one sidedness of the Layman is highly overrated.
Brian was interviewed in that article it was entirely representative of the facts - Brian was highly encouraged by the article fairly presenting the facts.
Once again it is very clear that there is no due process in the PCUSA. Unless you are the one driving the steamroller.... Another sad waypoint in the death spiral of a denomination.
